The Reverend Al Sharpton’s National Action Network has issued a response in regards to recent allegations that he was on some extortion ish:
“According to Bruce Williams, a confidant of Dr. Dre and author of the recently released book Rollin’ With Dre, Sharpton allegedly demanded $500,000 dollars from the mega-producer to end The Game’s feud with 50 Cent, or NAN would organize a march and boycott.
Here’s an excerpt of the statement:
“‘The National Action Network and Reverend Al Sharpton were not involved with and did not attend a press conference held by Hip-Hop artists The Game and 50 Cent to announce their truce and donation to charities,’ a representative for Reverend Sharpton [said] a statement. ‘At no point has Reverend Al Sharpton or an authorized representative of National Action Network met with Dr. Dre.’”
Wow, say it isn’t so Al. We’re not saying that he did it, but if he did, he could at least retire that hot comb and hire a real hair stylist once and for all.

Dr. Dre’s mom has a book coming out, and in it discusses an incident on how his first child was conceived:
“One day I received that phone call — the call that all moms of teenagers dread,” Dre’s mother, Verna Griffin, writes in her upcoming memoir, “Long Road Outta Compton.” Just 17, Dre (real name: Andre Young) had been secretly seeing 16-year-old Lisa Johnson. “Lisa’s mom called me to inform me that Andre had been sneaking over to their home and Lisa was now pregnant. When I asked her if she was sure that it was Andre who had been with Lisa, she got very upset. She said, ‘If I had come home and caught that n - - - - r in my house, you would have been picking him up in a box.’ Needless to say, the conversation went down from there.” Continue »

Will Smith was secretly made fun of in Bad Boys II:
G-RATED rapper-turned-movie star Will Smith was secretly trashed on the soundtrack of his 2003 movie “Bad Boys II” - and the culprit was famed producer Dr. Dre. In his hip-hop memoir “Rollin’ With Dre,” Bruce Williams - who was Dre’s confidant for nearly 20 years - says producers asked Dre to do some background music for a key scene. Williams writes, “We made sure that the music underneath that scene was the song ‘Bitch Niggaz’ from ‘The Chronic 2001,’ because that’s what we thought of that hater, Smith. We had to get our fun where we could . . .” Smith has been critical of violent rap songs and has urged artists to tone down their lyrics.
SMH. That actually sounds like some bitch shit in itself. What a bunch of gaylords.

A newly roided up Dr. Dre makes statements on working out and quitting the rap game.
On losing 50 pounds:
“That’s another of my obsessions. I go in the gym two to 2 1/2 hours Monday through Friday. It makes me feel better and look better. I feel like I can kick a brick wall down now.”
On Detox being his final solo project:
“I think it’s time to move on, I think rap is a young man’s game.”
Unlike with others (names I will not mention), I actually believe Dre when he says this will be his final rap project, and it ought to be. It seems like that “Detox” has been being recorded for the past eight years. Only time will tell.
