Da Brat was sentenced to 3 years in the pen for splitting a girls wig with a bottle at a club last year. Mimi sure is going to miss her side deal:
Rapper Da Brat was sentenced to three years behind bars, seven years of probation and 200 hours of community service Friday morning (August 22) for striking a woman in the face with a rum bottle. The October 2007 incident at an Atlanta-area nightclub left the victim’s face permanently scarred.
According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Gail Flake handed down the punishment, while about six members of the rapper’s family quietly wept inside the courtroom. Da Brat (born Shawntae Harris) told her relatives “I love y’all” as she was led out of the courtroom by sheriff’s deputies. “We love you too,” they replied.
At least time in the pen is not going to interrupt her sex game. SMH.

According to SOHH, Da Brat could face up to a year in the clink:
[Da Brat] struck a plea deal with prosecutors for her role in a club brawl last Halloween. For those of y’all who don’t remember Shawntae got buck wild at Jeramine Dupri’s costume party where Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey were in attendance which resulted in a cocktail waitress’s face getting smashed in by a full bottle of alcohol.The washed up MC was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and has been out on bail ever since. Da Brat is scheduled to turn herself in later on this week.
We’re sorry to hear this, but we have a feeling ole girl will feel quite at home among those rough-neck burly girls up in the pen.

Mariah Carey threw a private soiree at Mr. Chow’s last night. Mimi’s really workin that manufactured physique these days. La Reid and Da Brat (no suprise) were also present. We looked closely, and still no sign of that alleged long term boyfriend of hers. Yes, we’re on the look-out.

Mariah Carey got booed in L.A.:
“Glitzy singer Mariah Carey was nearly in for a shock yesterday when she arrived to a throng of boos from her most dedicated fans. If the soul diva had hoped that by turning up two hours late for her own CD signing would entice her audience, then she was right! No sooner had the crowd become inpatient, she finally showed her face, ensuring that the fans went ecstatic for her bootylicious entrance at the Hard Rock Cafe.”
Poor Mimi, booed by her fans. So much for being (un)fashionably late in that catsuit/striped shorts get up. She still must be a little delusional to think that people would rather waste their time waiting for her ass to show up just to get her signature. A word of advice: Have a little more respect for your fans; and perhaps it’s time to consider getting a new stylist.

Here’s a pic of Mariah and Da Brat kickin it at club Privé Las Vegas last night. Rumor has it that Nick Cannon, who dj’d the event, was getting all cozy with Mimi:
“Carey’s rep denied last week that the singer and actor Nick Cannon are dating, but the duo looked cozy at a party Monday night in Las Vegas.
He also seemed to give Carey a ’secret’ shout-out. Carey stood up on the back of the booth and raised her wine glass when Cannon put on Jay-Z’s ‘Public Service Announcement’ and sang along with the lyrics, ‘I got the hottest chick in the game.’”
Whateveh. A highly placed source tells us that Mariah has had a boyfriend, by the name of Marc, for years. Word is he co-signs these little publicity stunts of hers. Apparently he can even be found at times, in the background of some of her photos. Hint: He’s a Jewish guy with dark hair.

Mariah Carey, who has been recently spotted out with Da Brat is choosy when it comes to dating:
“That’s a big deal for me - feeling like somebody else can’t fully
understand me because they’re not in show business. It shouldn’t matter, but it does, because the energy it takes to be ‘on’ is a lot.”
