Dave Chappelle was a no show for an event that he was set to co-host:
“Dave Chappelle was no where to be found last night though about 700 people were looking for the comedian to appear on stage at hip-hop journalist and congressional contender Kevin Powell’s campaign fundraiser in Manhattan. Though it cost the jilted fans and supporters upwards of $75 a pop, it could end up costing Powell much more.
Powell, who many remember from MTV’s first season of “The Real World,” has his sights set on kicking 13-term incumbent Ed Towns (Democrat–Fort Greene) out of office in the September Brooklyn primary. It is the second time the young hopeful has run for the office.
As Powell’s team stayed on the phone with Chappelle’s people for hours, trying to pull the show together - apparently the comedian missed two flights in his effort to get to the fundraiser - Chris Rock was backstage in support of the candidate. He declined to take the stage though, “out of respect [for] other comedians.”
SMH that Chris couldn’t take the stage in Chappelle’s absence. Would it have killed the brotha to recycle a couple of jokes for ole Kev? More pics of the failed event just below.

Chris Rock was in court today testifying in the Anthony Pellicano wiretapping case:
“A freaked-out Rock took the stand for roughly 15 minutes to talk about a most uncomfortable subject — DNA and baby mamas. As we already reported, Rock’s attorney hired the P.I. to the stars to investigate Monica Zsibrita, who had claimed she and Rock had hooked up, and that he was the father of her child. DNA proved otherwise, so Zsibrita changed her tune, alleging Rock raped her. That’s when a stressed-out Rock got on the horn with Pellicano, and it was all caught on tape. As for the rape allegations, Rock testified, ‘I’m here a free man, I didn’t do anything wrong. You know I didn’t do anything wrong!’”
Another stank heffah trying to pin rape charges on a brother. Hey Chris, keep your head up (the big one only please), and stay clear of those trashy trailer park hoes.

Here is a bit of a phone call from August 2001 between Chris Rock and private investigator Anthony Pellicano that The Huffington Post has obtained:
“Once you’re accused of rape, you’re just [bleep]ed, you know?” a stressed-out Rock tells the detective. An angry Pellicano replies: “That’s why I want to blacken this girl up, totally. I want to make her out to be a lying, scumbag, manipulative [bleep]sucker . . . stupid [bleep].” Rock agrees, telling Pellicano, “I’m [bleep]ed. I’m better getting caught with needles in my arm. Way better. Needles, with pictures. There’s Chris Rock shooting heroin. Much better blow to the career.” Continue »
