Dr. Dre’s Son OD’d on Heroin and Morphine

The coroner report came back on Dr. Dre’s son who suddenly died last year:
Dr. Dre’s son, Andre Young Jr., died from an overdose of heroin and morphine, the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday. “This case has been closed, it’s been ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication,” coroner spokesman Larry Dietz told PEOPLE. The drug test results had been pending for four months.
Young, 20, was found unresponsive by his mother, Jenita Porter, 40, in their Woodland Hills, Calif., home on the morning of Aug. 23.

RIP I don’t even remember hearing about this but I know I did. That just goes to show how fast things get booted out the way. It’s always a shame to hear about a young person losing their life feverously(sp?)

I think it hurts just as much if not more John Travolta’s son has been sick and also suffered from a mild form of autism but Dre has to now deal with the guilt of knowing he could have done something different to prevent his childs death.

As for Danny, the last bit was unwarranted, the first bit was spot on though, had it been a white kid BOSSIP would have dissed his poor ass non stop. Neither would have deserved it, for they would both have been clearly suffering to go down that path.
But yeah, moral of the day 2fold:
1-what goes around comes around, with all the negativity Dre promoted over the years despite his brother’s death, it’s not surprising that in the end it would bite him in the ass in this life or the next.
2- Money cant buy you no peace of mind with your kids (or anything else mind you except a roff over your head and food in your belly), in fact probably more the opposite (mo money mo problems, ring a bell?).
RIP to JT’s autistic son (who probably was not medicated due to his parents’ CO$ beliefs) and RIP again to Dre’s Son who just couldnt hold it down.

What a bunch of inconsiderate people. Regardless of how he died, he was still someone’s child and has family that loves him. People need to stop judging people and saying mean things about dead people, because one we’re all going to die. And the survivors don’t need to hear anything to make them feel worst about losing a loved one.

I’m sorry but I totally disagree…I never heard Dre claim to sell drugs in his songs, but I could be wrong, but anyway even if he did, that doesn’t mean that his son had to get involved in drugs. I grew up in an area and a time where damn near everybody around me sold, or smoked crack, but I never started using or selling it or any other drug for that matter. I can’t believe these youngsters started up with Heroine which is a thousand times worse to be adddicted to than crack. People tend to use drugs to fill a void, or deal with some sort of traumatic event in their life. I have no idea what Young Dre has been through, but my condolences to his family who lost a child. Anybody who wants to judge needs to make sure their own garden is well tended, if not then go stick your head in the ocean and breathe

You know I’m reading some of these comments and have to SMH because you people sound so ignorant and inconsiderate and judgemental and it’s horrible. Could you imagine going through something like this? This man buried his son and no matter what the reason, he is gone. That’s horrible. Drugs are hitting teenagers and young adults (20-24) alot heavier than any other age limit. It’s scary,but at the same time it is was has been idolized and glorified by alot of the music that this particular age bracket listens to. My heart goes out ot him and his family. Some type of awarness needs to be put into major force to help kids know that there are other ways to enjoy yourself without being under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

As a parent if your not home to wait on your kid and look them str8 in the eyes when they get home, well then, you fail as a parent.
Dr. Dre has the resourses and support and money to have got his child (adult child, your still a parent and have a responsiblity to save a human being) into some hardcore private detox centres in Israel and other countries that cure this disease successfully 100%.
Obviously if you don’t know about your child you can’t help them. He must have been so desperate to be loved that he didn’t want to be living no more.

Drugs are cyclical. Anyone who thinks heroin and morphine are “white drugs” were not around in the 1960s or 1970s. Those who were around wouldn’t go near it, but did go after crack. Those who were around when crack was king, wouldn’t go near it. Parents: get ahold of some old junkie movies for your kids, if you don’t see this nonsense when you are young, you will not be prepared as you age.
