The rumors have been confirmed. Jamecia Bennett, American Idol’s Paris Bennett’s mom, brags about how happy she is to become a grandmother.
“American Idol” 2006 contestant Princess P is becoming a mommy. Paris Bennett is expecting a baby girl in October and will be 20 when mommyhood arrives.”This makes five generations,” an overjoyed Jamecia Bennett [said]. Jamecia, who like her daughter and mother is a singer, is absolutely over the moon about being a first-time grandmother.
“I’m proud of how she did it. I was 16 when I got pregnant,” said Jamecia.
Who’s the daddy? “He chooses not to be in the public eye,” said Jamecia. “I respect that.” What does he do for a living? “I can’t tell,” she said.
“She has a ring,” said Jamecia, who’s hopeful that she’ll be planning a wedding for Paris.
The planning for an August baby shower is already underway. A few celebrities may fly into town for the show, including Queen Latifah. Latifah has made it clear that she plans to spoil this baby with gifts and that she won’t be stopped. You’re the princess but I’m the queen, Jamecia said Latifah told Paris.
How sweet. We’re absolutely positive that Big ‘Tifah will make a wonderful Uncle Auntie to her child. Best of luck to ‘em.

Jordin Sparks lays it all out in this upcoming issue of Jet Magazine:
“The young star, whose hit single No Air topped the Billboard Pop charts, opens up to Jet about her recent vocal cord hemorrhage that could have ended her career. That was one of the scariest feelings I’ve ever felt, Sparks recalls. She also discusses the latest Internet gossip that she was recently married to her alleged boyfriend, singer/model Steph Jones. I’m only 18-years-old. I’m not getting married for a while, she said.”
Lil Miss Chipper looks like she’s been putting in some time on the treadmill. Not bad, she still has the curves where it counts.

Yesterday we reported that singer Ruben Studdard and his fiancee received their marriage license in Birmingham, Alabama. Now we know that this was a true last minute move:
“Ruben Studdard is planning a big Southern wedding Saturday with fiancée Surata Zuri McCants – with at least 20 groomsmen at his side. The American Idol second-season champ will marry McCants, 30, at Canterbury United Methodist Church in the tony Mountainbrook neighborhood of Birmingham, Ala., according to the source close to the wedding. A rep for Studdard confirms he’s getting married this weekend.”
20 groomsmen sounds excessive don’t ya think? Whatever floats their boat.

American Idol Ruben Studdard and his fiancee Surata McCants:
Studdard, 29, arrived at the Shelby County Probate Office in Birmingham with fiancée Surata Zuri McCants, 30, just before noon, filled out the paperwork and walked away with their license, an eyewitness says. Studdard is a Birmingham native. “They looked really happy,” says the eyewitness.
Apparently, in Alabama, a marriage license is valid for 30 days. So it’s safe to assume they’re about to get hitched any day now. We wish ‘em the best.

Now that Jordin Sparks’ vocal chords have recovered, she’s back in action and was spotted on the set of her new video over the weekend. Apparently, she’s been downplaying her throat injury:
“Sparks insists her illness was never as bad as was reported. She says, ‘They were saying I would never sing again, and I knew I could because, well, it’s my throat. My career could have been in jeopardy if I hadn’t done anything about it. But I knew something was wrong and that I needed to get it checked out.’”
Kelly Rowland was also out getting her hustle on in the UK, promoting the re-release of her CD, Ms. Kelly Deluxe (poor child). More of Kelly just below.

Ruben Studdard recently discusses losing weight to play Fats Domino in the upcoming musical Ain’t Misbehavin’:
“I am working out now. I’ve started jogging last week, really just trying to build up my endurance because we’re doing about eight shows a week. I have lost almost 100 pounds. A year and a half ago I weighed about 450 pounds, now I weigh 365. I still have a long way to go, I need to gear back up again.”
Wow a hundred pounds, that’s more than what some of these Hollyweird broads weigh right now. Good for him.

Kimberly Locke is still fu*kin for fitness? She announced that she and Harvey of Celebrity Fit Club are unofficially together. He’s still married, so she only hangs with him at places like the gym:
“We do work out together sometimes. We go running and everything, but the whole working out in the gym thing didn’t go so well. Two bossy people? He wants me to do things his way. I want to do it my way — I’m going to do it my way. It didn’t work out.”
It’s hard to concentrate when the object of your desire is the sweaty, bald trainer standing over you. We’re pretty sure that she’s burning calories in other ways.

American Idol Kimberly Locke was spotted with Celebrity Fit Club’s Sgt. Harvey on New Year’s Eve. Rumors are circulating that the married trainer wasn’t wearing his wedding ring. We’re not sure about this situation. Is Kim fu*kin for fitness tips?

Bossip is hearing rumors that Ruben Studdard was dropped from J Records. His last album, The Return, was released in 2006 and sold approximately 235,000 copies. It’s a shame that America supports Gay Clay Aiken more than the actual winner of American Idol Season 2.
