Bugsy Is Keeping His Mouth Shut

Posted by Bossip Staff

50 Cent has yet to speak on his blazed up crib:

The investigation into the “highly suspicious” fire that gutted the Long Island home owned by 50 Cent – but occupied by his ex-girlfriend and their son – is lingering because the rapper has not been interviewed by investigators.A fire official said investigators have not been able to conclude the investigation partly because the hip-hop star, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has not met with the arson squad. The official said attempts have been made through Jackson’s attorneys to meet with him, but that he has not scheduled an interview.

“We interview every owner of every structure that goes on fire,” said the official. “It’s standard procedure.” Another source with information about the investigation said he was told Jackson’s unavailability is holding up the case, although the source did not know why Jackson has been unavailable.

He stays busy running his mouth any other time….Hmmmm

Bugsy and Camel top Forbes list of “Hip-Hop’s Cash Kings”:

It’s been some year for Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. In the past 12 months, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-born hip-hop demigod released a platinum album, signed a 10-year, $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation and tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Beyoncé Knowles. Quite a record. But only good enough for a silver medal. While Jay-Z topped Forbes.com’s inaugural Hip-Hop Cash Kings list of the top-earning people in the business last year, in 2008 he cedes the throne to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who raked in $150 million over the past 12 months–almost twice what Jay-Z made. Another Day, Another Lawsuit

Posted by Bossip Staff

Bugs Monkey is stirring up one more legal battle:

50 Cent wants dollars — lots of ‘em — from Taco Bell for jacking his “good name” for a low-budget promo.

Fitty claims in a Federal lawsuit that the burrito slingers stole his identity by encouraging him to change his name to 79 Cent, 89 Cent, or 99 Cent as part of a less-than-a-dollar-menu promo. While he doesn’t address the total idiocy of the campaign in the suit, Mr. Cent does claim he wasn’t told about the ad until he heard about it in the news — whereupon he totally disavowed it.

Reps for Taco Bell didn’t immediately comment.

It’s doubtful that he’ll even see a penny for this wack lawsuit. This cat never grows tired of drama. SMH.

Bugsy Won This Round

A judge has ruled in favor of No Cent - this time:

Rapper 50 Cent can keep using his lawyer Brett Kimmel after beating a bid from ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins to have him thrown off the case. Tompkins - who the star is battling over a home he owns, and she lived in until it was burned down earlier this year - claimed Kimmel had a conflict of interest, because she attempted to hire him to represent her during her child support battle with 50 Cent three years ago.

But Kimmel and the rapper - who has an eleven year old son, Marquis, with Tompkins - successfully argued the two cases are unrelated and that Kimmel never had an attorney-client relationship with her. New York judge Carol Edmead has thrown out the bid. 50 Cent is attempting to overturn a court decision to freeze insurance money on the New York house.

Unlike the Simmons’, this is one couple who doesn’t seem to mind exposing their son to the full brunt of their insanity. Bugsy ought to break Shaniqua off properly and cease with all this damned drama already.

Update: According to OK Magazine No Cents is trying to get custody of young Marquis:

“I’m going to try and get him when I go to court on the 17th,” he [said]. “I’ll see if I can get him.”

The judge’s ruling is under the hood. Continue »

Shaniqua Goes for the Gold

Posted by Bossip Staff

And with that suspect fire still under investigation, she just might get it too:

Paul Catsandonis, lawyer for 50 Cent ex Shaniqua Tompkins, has disclosed that his client is suing the rapper for $50 million dollars in damages resulting from a fire than destroyed the home she was living in.In May, a suspicious fire destroyed 50’s Long Island property, which the Queens mogul had successfully obtained eviction on for Tompkins.

In the fallout, Tompkins accused 50 of setting the fire himself to avoid having to honor an agreement made between them. She has since filed a restraining order. The NY State Supreme Court will hear arguments on July 15 regarding the insurance proceeds on the destroyed home. Suffolk County Family Court commences proceedings on July 17 to hear arguments for 50’s visitation rights.

So the Bugsy vs. Shaniqua saga continues. It’s never-ending with these two. SMH.

Bugsy’s up to His Usual Tricks

No Cent neither confirms or denies that he dissed T.I. in G-Unit’s track “You So Tough”:

He didn’t say T.I.’s name — but the general consensus by hip-hop fans, journalists and bloggers is that 50 Cent took a jab at the King of the South on the G-Unit’s album cut “You So Tough.” Fif’s alleged implication about Tip? The unbelievable: that T.I. is a snitch who’s working with the authorities to get a lighter prison sentence. On the record, which appears on the Unit’s new Terminate on Sight LP, 50 raps “Nowadays this rap sh– ain’t adding up/ How n—-s get caught with 10 machine guns, only get 12 months/ Oowee, don’t talk to me/ You talk to him, you talking to them.” Continue »
