This time it’s New Orleans Saints RB and Kim Kardashian’s ass-grabber Reggie Bush. Bush is being sued for $300,000 he owes from money he and his parents accepted his sophomore and junior years at USC:
A fledgling sports marketer filed a lawsuit Tuesday against former Southern California running back Reggie Bush and his parents that seeks to recoup nearly $300,000 in cash and gifts they allegedly accepted during Bush’s sophomore and junior seasons. The suit, filed in Superior Court, claims Bush and his family received $291,600 in cash, living arrangements and other benefits from Lloyd Lake between November 2004 and January 2006.
“We tried for over a year to resolve this amicably and Bush and his attorney didn’t want to reach any resolution,” said Lake’s attorney, Brian E. Watkins. “They wanted the truth to come out. Now it’s out.”
When will these athletes learn that they need to pay these people back? It’s not like he can’t afford it. A measly 300K? SMH.

There use to be talk of college players getting payed so that this thing wouldnt happen but thats all it was just talk. 80% of college athletes dont come from money. They have never had the chance to experience the other side of the game so when a guy comes up and says “Hey wouldnt you like a nice car to get around in on and off campus? or wouldnt you like your family to live in a safer nicer area? of course they jump at it. FYI - NBA player Chris Webber took $250,000 while he was playing for Michigan. Michigan was stripped of their NCAA championship title and forfitted all their wins for the season. He is not welcomed back in the area.
Basically when he took the money, he became an ineligible player, which forfits all the games he played. USC gets stripped of their title, Bush gets stripped of the Heisman trophy, yada yada yada.

A LOT of the top ranked atheletes going to the Schools with Top NCAA Programs do that (take money from agents and say they’re going to sign with them when they go pro. *or from athletic boosters with the agreement that they will pay it back)…
We don’t hear about it because 99.5% time the athelete pays the money back during their first year in the pros (*so they be broke and be complaining a lot during that time because most of their money is going towards paying the money back from whomever gave it to them and/or was giving them money while they were in school).
Sometimes the reason why a top high school athelete will chose one program over another is simply because they received more money from that school’s athletic booster.
**Why athletic boosters you ask… That’s simple, it’s because the schools want winning sports programs which translates into A LOT of money… via TV deals, Sponsorship deals, school notoriety = alumni donations, etc…
That’s why some coaches (sometimes assistants take the blame) leave programs - it’s because they got caught doing illegal recruiting and to save face (and not ruin their careers because their so respected) and/or to not get the NCAA Probations Committee involved…
Some kids take the money because they’ve never had money before and want to help themselves and their peoples out… Others because they’ve been told their soo great their whole lives and have been getting A LOT of attention and special treatment their whole lives and so whenever they get caught nothing happens and so they believe they will never get caught and get in trouble or if they do things will be kept quiet and “swept under the rug” as has happened in the past…
the modern slavery term would apply to all ncaa athletes not just the black ones. i wouldn’t go that far, more like indentured servitude.
the ‘educational payoff’ is a poor excuse the ncaa uses.
a student with parents that can afford tuition, books, shelter, would still have to pay nuff for misc. costs incurred when doing full time anything without a paycheck to cover it. unless the ncaa changed their policy, athletes can’t get a job or receive cash/gifts totaling more than $100.
i know the reasoning but the system’s broke, been abused, and has made the ncaa fat pockets across the board.
