When The Checks Stop Coming in

Posted by Bossip Staff

jaleelwhite5.jpg

Here is Jaleel White recently putting down some of that Urkel game on some white girls in Vegas. He is probably missing those Family Matters checks. These hoes don’t seem to care. This is probably the best it’s going to get for Urkel, some of that trailer park tail. Poor thang.

  5. Marquella

HA HA HA HA HA HA.

Why does it matter that these girls are white, though? I’m sure black chicks would be jumping on it too trying to get some of that Urkel money.

‘Family Matters’ is still in syndication, so I think White is getting a little cheddar here and there.

  6. Kim Kardashian

They recognized him and wanted to get in a pic with him. He obliged and now Bossip wants to imply something else. I guess I shouldnt be suprised.

  7. txshawty

I don’t care about them being white, I’m just trippin out the Steven Q. Urkel is a man! lol AWWWW…

  8. TiVo

He was getting $100,000.00 per episode and the show is in syndication so the checks aint neva gonna stop coming in.

And more power to him if he checking for Becky & Sue-Ann. Cause you can bet the sistas back then and these days are looking for a “thug brotha” and not some educated “herb looking n!gga”.

  9. yallgetonmynerves

his checks are still coming in..just no black woman wants him..let him, Cuba, and Mr. cablasian himself do what they do

  10. beingathugiscornyandplayedout

Has Bossip ever heard of syndication? He’ll be getting paid long after this site is done…which probably won’t be long anyways. Those white girls are cute, stop hatin…and quite honestly, it feels like most black women want to support stupid wannabe thugs like TI instead of a regular dude like Jaleel. So why shouldn’t he find someone else. I wish more black women would date white dudes instead supporting all these brothas out here who are acting like asses. Stop encouraging and supporting stupid thugs sistas…please…

Actors and especially Black actors were not getting good Seinfeld type deals back when Family Matters was out. STFU if you don’t know how the Hollywood game works! Speak on what you know.

Hell I think Jaleel White is gonna be set for life. He may not have a sitcom on anymore but Family Matters was on for a long time and he was the star of that show. So I am sure he is making it just fine. He even did a movie a while back called, Who made the Potato salad. That shit was hilarious. yall should check it out and give the brotha some DVD support. LOL

    http://www.theblackactor.com/

  32. hater are stans too......

Alright you guys on bossip have to make up your minds, either all blacck women want thugs and gangsters who treat us bad or were all golddiggers who won’t give an ordinary hard working man a chance. I mean damn it’s either we settle to low or we won’t settle unless there is money involved.

Ther is really a big misconception about black women amongst black men.Or should i say black men on bossip.

  33. commenter

URKEL IS DOING BETTER THAN 100% OF “US”. not one of us has the money or assests this guys has. he got his degree from UCLA. and is enjoying a low-key life of the average wealthy person in america. WE HATE URKEL BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY URKEL HAS.

  34. Mahogany

    Yep.^^^

  35. commenter

    **URKEL INTERVIEW**

    Q. so how do you feel about all the people who comment on bossip saying your broke

    A. whats bossip and how would anyone who doesnt know my physical address know im broke

    Q. because you’ve been out of the limelight people associate that departure from broadcast television as a sign that you fell off.

    A. i graduated from UCLA and currently sell scripts to everyone from Disney to PBS.

    Q. what do you think about the commenters who post negative remarks about beautiful people who are successful on bossip

    A. MISERY LOVES COMPANY, i wouldnt know because im out of the limelight and have never been to jail or strung out on drugs and i dont live on welfare or need government assistance to support my family. So all those welfare moms who work for just above minimum wage who comment at work on gossip sites are probably miserable neighborhood freak hoes with snotty nose kids who dont get any child support therefore their miserable and need that comfort of bashing someone everyday to combat their own feelings of insecurity and hopelessness as well as helplessness that was proabably learned from their ill equipt parents. POOR FOLKS THEY NEED TO READ INSTEAD OF TALKING SHIT ALL DAY!!!!

  36. WTFever

Umm just to let everyone that’s saying he didn’t get paid off that show, umm yes he is,whoever said he was making $100,000 a show was close, not only that he was listed as a producer on the show. And unlike some, after his show was over he went to college and got his degree. So sorry to ruin it Bossip, but the checks haven’t stopped rollin in,they’re still coming and getting bigger.Google him people and find out the info for yourself instead of taking Bossip’s word as fact.Remember this is a gossip site for entertainment, not CNN.

  37. oh those ole white ass whores just trying to get some black flavor and some black dick. you know and i know it! they dont care who the fuck it is as long as its a black man. AND FUCK YOU BUCK WHEAT PLAYING LIKE YOUR ASS IS BLACK. I DONT BLAME CUTIE PIE FOR CURSING YOU STUPID ASS OUT.

But I don’t doubt that he is paid because I believe he got his education in WHAT I don’t know, he had that Urkel doll, the Urkel dance and matching video and rap AND he had that show on the Unpaid Negroe Network for a season or 2 so he is probably not starving.

  39. no its not unheard of but white women are still all up in a brothers face and thats the truth. he probably is just being nice and not wanting to turn them down. better watch out urkel you could be the next kobe if you still have money, honey. and maybe the dirty panties wont have 5 different sperm stains in them.

Although it was a small role, he was in Dream Girls in the opening scene during the talent show. He was the MC who wasn’t gonna let the Dreams perform until Jaime Fox’s character interviend.

There is pleny of money not in front of the camera as you always needs writers, procuders, idea people, etc.

Behind-the-scene people actually make more money in the end. How is it that behind-the-scene person, David Geffen, is the richest person in Hollywood.

  52. RAWBERT

I wonder if he still knows the dance moves to “The Urkel”?

  53. Carl Winslow

Urkel has more money than alot of you broke colored bums!!!

  54. Mahogany

I will call this a slow news day.

    puhleeze.

  55. TiVo

Yall sistas know ya panties got wet when he played that duel role Urkle = NERD & Urkel = Smoove Brova.

    Broad generalization? Really?

Paris Hilton is a skank and the sites and media big her up so many little white girls emulate her.

Media and sites big up Lil Wayne, TI, 50 Cent, etc. So many little and big black girls swoon for their style and swagger.

So yes I will generalize cause how many sistas google Obama vs. Lil. Wayne.

  56. K.ola

Bossip is whack… you need new writers…

  57. K.ola

Bossip is whack we dont like to bash our celebs like the whites…

and urkel has money and probaly more than the bitch who writes these blogs

  58. Not You

    I used to like Bossip.

But now, it’s just a hate fest. That’s not cute. You’re supposed to crack on people who’ve earned it, not just randomly attack people.

That’s not clever. That’s not witty. That’s just trifling. No wonder I hardly visit this site anymore.

  59. hey

“trailer park tail”? wow so cruel yet correct. what can i say?

  60. Marquella

    I’m from Memphis via Cincinnati.

I have something for you, It’s4AMHOGETOUT!

    THREE Faces of Low Self-Esteem

    1. The Impostor: acts happy and successful, but is really terrified of failure. Lives with the constant fear that she or he will be “found out.” Needs continuous successes to maintain the mask of positive self-esteem, which may lead to problems with perfectionism, procrastination, competition, and burn-out.

    2. The Rebel: acts like the opinions or good will of others - especially people who are important or powerful - don’t matter. Lives with constant anger about not feeling “good enough.” Continuously needs to prove that others’ judgments and criticisms don’t hurt, which may lead to problems like blaming others excessively, breaking rules or laws, or fighting authority.

    3. The Loser: acts helpless and unable to cope with the world and waits for someone to come to the rescue. Uses self-pity or indifference as a shield against fear of taking responsibility for changing his or her life. Looks constantly to others for guidance, which can lead to such problems as lacking assertiveness skills, under-achievement, and excessive reliance on others in relationships.

Low self-esteem can have devastating consequences.

It can create anxiety, stress, loneliness and increased likelihood for depression.

It can cause problems with friendships and relationships.

It can seriously impair academic and job performance.

It can lead to underachievement and increased vulnerability to drug and alcohol abuse.

It can cause individuals who suffers from a low self esteem to lash out at others who exhibit a high self esteem about themselves. You, It’s4AMHOGETOUT! obviously suffer from this epidemic. I would classify you at number one and two, the Impostor & the Rebel. You do not want to be FOUND OUT, yet you want to disprove what others says, or disapprove of their looks. Well, no one can find you out online, but the fact you try to tear people down online who you do not even know proves beyond a shadow of a doubt you have a low self esteem.

I hope that this will help you to achieve a high self esteem:

    Three Steps to Better Self-Esteem

Before you can begin to improve your self-esteem you must first believe that you can change it. Change doesn’t necessarily happen quickly or easily, but it can happen. You are not powerless! Once you have accepted, or are at least willing to entertain the possibility that you are not powerless, there are three steps you can take to begin to change your self-esteem:

Step 1: Rebut the Inner Critic-The first important step in improving self-esteem is to begin to challenge the negative messages of the critical inner voice. Here are some typical examples of the inner critic’s voice and how you can “rebut” that voice.

    Step 2: Practice Self-Nurturing- Step 2: Practice Self-Nurturing

Rebutting your critical inner voice is an important first step, but it is not enough. Since our self-esteem is in part due to how others have treated us in the past, the second step to more healthy self-esteem is to begin to treat yourself as a worthwhile person.

Start to challenge past negative experiences or messages by nurturing and caring for yourself in ways that show that you are valuable, competent, deserving and lovable. There are several components to self-nurturing:

Get enough sleep, eat in a healthy fashion, get regular exercise, practice good hygiene, and so forth.

You could go to a movie, take a nap, get a massage, plant a garden, buy a pet, learn to meditate-whatever you enjoy.

You could take the night off to celebrate good grades, spend time with a friend, or compliment yourself for making that hard phone call.

One way is to make a list of things you like about yourself. Or keep a ’success’ file of awards, certificates and positive letters or citations. Keep momentos of accomplishments you are proud of where you can see them.

Self-nurturing can be surprisingly hard if you are not used to doing it. Don’t be critical of yourself-remember that inner voice!-when you don’t do it just right.

“Fake it” until you can “make it.” When you treat yourself like you deserve to feel good and be nurtured, slowly you’ll come to believe it.

Step 3: Get Help from Others- Getting help from others is often the most important step a person can take to improve his or her self-esteem, but it can also be the most difficult. People with low self-esteem often don’t ask for help because they feel they don’t deserve it. But since low self-esteem is often caused by how other people treated you in the past, you may need the help of other people in the present to challenge the critical messages that come from negative past experiences. Here are some ways to get help from others:

Ask friends to tell you what they like about you or think you do well.

Ask someone who cares about you to just listen to you “vent” for a little while without trying to “fix” things.

    Ask for a hug.

Ask someone who loves you to remind you that they do.

Go to professors or advisors or tutors to ask for help in classes if this is a problem for you. Remember: They are there to help you learn!

If you lack self-confidence in certain areas, take classes or try out new activities to increase your sense of competence (for example, take a math class, join a dance club, take swimming lessons, etc.)

Sometimes low self-esteem can feel so painful or difficult to overcome that the professional help of a therapist or counselor is needed.

Talking to a counselor is a good way to learn more about your self-esteem issues and begin to improve your self-esteem.

  61. JaliliMaster

Lil. Wayne.

    ———-

So it is ok to generalize? Fine. I guess it’s also ok for me to say that all black men are useless, unemployed, trifling, good for nothing, broke ass, prison record having, down low losers, eh? Eat that for a generalization!

  62. I don’t think Jaleel is struggling to eat. Family matters is still on in syndication and I also thought he had a radio gig out in LA.

  63. Jus Another Opinion

Them damn white women I hope they don’t get to Obama when he becomes president. 2009-2017 President Obama!

  64. Ron G

If Gary Coleman broke ass was working security while Different Strokes was running, how the fuck does Urkel have all this money that you people are claiming?

    ***************************************************

Gary was on TV 30 years ago and his parents ganked him for his money. By the time he was working security Differant Strokes was not airing anywhere. Its not even on TV Land.

For the person who said Jaleel hasn’t worked since Family Matters, that is not true. He had another sitcom a few years ago that I thought was really good, but it was cancelled after one season.

  65. JaliliMaster

Bird, the fact that u thought his other sitcom was good means nothing. It was cancelled because nobody was watching it. Even you can’t remember the name. And on the Gary Coleman issue, remember that Gary was the main star of the show while ‘Urkel’ was not(he was the neighbour of the main starring family). I am telling you that this Urkel dude is not paid. Not even remotely!

  66. Akimbo

    1. He definitely is still getting paid off of “Family Matters.”

    2. Those girls are probably fans who are working whatever event he’s attending. Even if they weren’t, so what? They’re cute and no one’s doing anything nasty.

    3. Did you NOT see him in “Dreamgirls?” Dude is clearly still out and about in Hollywood with crazy connections to randomly score a cameo in one of the biggest films of last year.

In short, I ain’t mad at Jaleel, and I have several friends who would be more than happy to put it on him.

  67. MrStyle

Damn he can’t take a picture!?

  68. Injera70

You know he is a college graduate right,he as something to fall back on.

  69. ComeDee

Doesn’t the chick on the right of the photo realize that she is not supposed to drink while she is pregnant?

  70. Jaleel (Urkel) White has been working steadily since Family matters ended its prime time schedule. His Internet Movie Database page can be seen here:

    http://imdb.com/name/nm0924918/

Family Matters has been in heavy syndicated rotation since its primetime broadcasts ended. There is no way that an actor who negotiated a $100,000 per episode salary, when he wasn’t even a major character, is not going to be smart enough to share in the residual income when the show goes into syndication. In fact, if you know anything about television economics, the main goal of a television series is to become popular enough during its prime time life so that it gets picked up in syndication. Syndication is where the real money is in television because there are no longer any production costs and you draw income for years and sometimes decades, after the series “officially” ends. Often, a show becomes way more popular in syndication than it was in prime time because of the increased exposure. Actors get paid whenever a program (or commercial) they appear in airs. The amount they get paid depends on whatever their status as an actor and what they negotiated.

Bottom line, “Urkel” is getting paid.

  71. and what...?

Jaleel has been on the CW’s The Game and Boston Legal — homie is still working — and he ain’t hurtin! You best believe.

  72. It’s good to Urkel is doing well. What’s wrong with him partying it up in Vegas… that the bizness!!!

  73. Hawk

I met dude he has major ends. And he was the #1 on that show he is still getting major paid from syndication. Syndication money didnt get big until Cosby pimped the game. Everything before that went back to the massas running the show. That show is on about 3 different channels when you flip through cable its one of the most popular syndicated shows. Dude is getting major paper from that for quite awhile to come.

  74. yeah white women have ass……… alright, fake ass booty shots and butt pads and butt implants. thats having booty in 2007. thats what you call having booty…… going from flat ass to big ass with surgery. yeah right……….. what the fuck ever i know my big round ass is real and always has been and always will be. and my lips too.

  75. Ghost

Sorry Jaleel is still getting paid. Not only from Family Matters reruns (at one point the show aired 24 hours a day all over the world).

He was the voice of Sonic The Hedgehog for 3 different versions of the series. One just got on DVD with him in an interview. With the other two on the way. And sooner or later Grownups (his post Family Matters series) will pop up on DVD.

He has his degree and is interested in directing. He also does speaking engagements and even did work for the NBA during various NBA Finals.

He is not hurting for money.

  76. HE AIN'T HURTING FOR MONEY

White attended Huntington Middle School in San Marino, California and part of high school at John Marshall Fundamental Secondary School in Pasadena, California. As a high school senior, White attended South Pasadena High School, but then transferred to Middlesex School in Massachusetts in 1994, where he would graduate. He received his bachelors degree in film from UCLA Film School in 2001.

During White’s years at South Pasadena High School while filming Family Matters, White did a physics experiment on tape for his physics teacher, Mike Kemp. This video became well known with students at South Pasadena High School because Kemp showed it to every physics student at SPHS until he retired in 2004. When not filming, White played basketball at South Pasadena High School.

    [edit] Career

White got his start on TV commercials and guest starring roles on different shows. White’s acting career began at age three with Kelloggs and other commercials after his preschool teacher persuaded his reluctant parents to take him to auditions. He landed his first television role as Flip Wilson and Gladys Knight’s son on the CBS series Charlie and Company. He next appeared on another CBS comedy series, The Jeffersons.

He was considered for the part of a main character on the NBC Saturday morning sitcom Saved by the Bell, but lost out to another actor.

    [edit] Family Matters

Originating his most famous role, Steve Urkel, on Family Matters as an initial guest appearance, White received a standing ovation for his performance and drew approving chants from a group of college fraternity brothers who were in the studio audience. He created the role by borrowing his dad’s dental glasses (his father was a dentist), hiking up his pants, bending his knees, and speaking in a high-pitched geeky tone. He was given a full-time starring role, and soon became an all time favorite TV character during the run of the series.

By the show’s final season, he was commanding $100,000 per episode. Unfortunately, White was so tightly defined by his Urkel character that it became hard for him to get other roles after the show’s run completed. Having played the part since he was a teenager, he was also considerably taller towards the latter part of the show’s run; thus disallowed from weightlifting, and required to shave immediately before filming each show in order to retain a “nerdlike” appearance. He also had to maintain the character’s high-pitched voice as the series progressed, which he declared was “not easy.”

Jaleel White as Steve UrkelBreakfast cereal During the height of Family Matter’s popularity, a breakfast cereal called “Urkel-Os” was produced. It was a sweetened “O” shaped cereal with a picture of the quintessential nerd, Urkel, on the front of the box. Its production run was rather short-lived.

    [edit] After Family Matters

In 1999, a pilot for UPN called Grown Ups was based around White as a young man striking out into adulthood. Additionally, he co-produced and wrote episodes for the show, in which he also starred as “J,” a college graduate struggling to establish his role in life as an adult. The pilot featured another child actor, Soleil Moon Frye famous for her role as Punky Brewster, as the girl whom he chose as a roommate. The writing and comedy was bland and dissimilar from other sitcoms, and Frye was even removed from the series after the pilot. It was cancelled after one season.

White’s acting roles were not restricted to sitcoms however; he costarred in the 1998 animated film Quest for Camelot. He was also the voice of the famed video game character Sonic the Hedgehog in most of the American TV shows - Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Sonic Underground, as well as a Christmas special. White also had small parts in the films Big Fat Liar and Dreamgirls, and was the voice of Martin Luther King, Jr. in Our Friend, Martin. In 2007, he guest starred on the ABC legal drama Boston Legal, playing a law school graduate interviewing for a job at Crane, Pool and Schmidt. Denny Crane creates a media circus when he tells White’s character “You don’t sound black”. He also appeared on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as Ashley’s boyfriend in one episode.

    [edit] Currently

White’s lifelong passion for basketball led him to become a contributing writer for NBA.com.

In 2006, he starred in Who Made the Potatoe Salad?, a direct-to-DVD urban romantic comedy distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

White also had a small part in the film Dreamgirls.

    http://misstrendy.org/miss_trendy.html

  81. Triple XXX

I thought it was a pic of Hines too. I agree Bossip is making a lot of nothing. And those girls don’t look like trailer trash. Calling a woman trailer trash because she’s pretty, blond and is with a black man is no better than calling a woman a nappy haired hoe becasue she’s black and plays basketball, or dates white guys.

Come bossip, you’re suppose have 3 million readers and that’s the best you can do?

  82. Bossip does not work well. You guys should go to http://www.richromances.com

  83. dayg715

wow, aren’t you proud of what we’ve become, black people?

  84. RealTalk...Don'tTrustYa

  86. SMDH

“This is probably the best it’s going to get for Urkel, some of that trailer park tail”

Gee - trailer park white women seem to be all the majority of black man get, even when their rich…

  87. SMDH

“This is probably the best it’s going to get for Urkel, some of that trailer park tail”

  88. thay

    ewww his pants look dirty…..

  89. ohnoudient

You know ppl this is a blog site, not instruction on writing a thesis, damn. Taking up 2-3 pages in response to a question on a blog site is ridiculous. It ain’t that serious.

In response to the pic of Jaleel and friends, this is just one more “brother” that we don’t mind handing over to the white chicks.

  90. scoob lov
