Alicia Keys Understands Why People Think She is ‘Suspect’

Alicia Keys continues to defend herself in the media and recently talked to the press about being labeled a suspected dyke in the industry:
She says, “I was definitely rough around the edges. I look back at certain interviews and I’m like, ‘Damn! Did I have to look that hard? Did I have to do my hair that way?’”I could see why people couldn’t see the diamond in the rough. I didn’t take it to heart. I know what I am. I know it’s not true.”
Why is she still talking about this stuff in 07? Playing the lesbian role in Smokin’ Aces is a good way to push the lesbian rumors back.

Exactly, about 75% (or more) of the population seriously thinks that she’s gay. And in every interview, she is always asked about it.
