Well, you kept asking for her to try playing a character that isn’t a singer so now she’s going to try her hand at a superhero role:
BEYONCÉ Knowles is serious about trying to become the next “Wonder Woman.” The LA Times reports the singer has already met with reps from DC Comics about starring in the flick, due out in 2011. “A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?” she says. Knowles, who once pranced around in her underwear in an “Austin Powers” picture, has her work cut out for her if she hopes to squeeze into Lynda Carter’s iconic red, white and blue bathing suit. “I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume,” she says.
At least this gives her a legitimate excuse to run around in a leotard with a giant @ss pompadour. Let’s just hope she leaves that Robocop glove at home.

Aaliyah was great, but she was not on Beyonce’s level in terms of worldwide fame. They have different fanbases/appeal. Beyonce is killing it on so many different levels.

I don’t think its fair to make a comparison betw Aaliyah & B because noone knows for sure what would have been. But since we ALL have a right to our opinions here, I have to say that Aaliyah seemed to be alot more graceful and low-key than B. Who knows how successful she may have been, especially in movies. I agree with a previous post: it’s bothersome that B thinks that she can and must do EVERYthing. She’s talented, no doubt about that. But she’s not the only person who’s capable of performing. Overkill and overexposure will kill her career if she keeps this up.

I agree with your #2 and #3 statement but #1 I don’t because Linda Carter may not have been an Oscar winner but she was a great actress. Many great actresses do not receive oscars because they are looked over for good roles. The great roles and pictures are the ones that received oscar worthy recognition.

If the movie is a comedy then yea Beyonce would fit right in. If this is a serious movie on the level of the latest batman films then no. Her acting just seems delayed and contained.

I vote for ANGELA BASSETT to play Wonderwoman. Specifically b/c she got jipped out of Storm’s roll in X Men. Halle Berry did not give that role justice.
Heard the Sasha Fierce last night and alot of ya’ll will be dissapointed. Way too many ballads and tempos similar to Rhianna’s “Take a Bow” and the handfull of uptempo tracks are mediocre to say the least. “Single Ladies” is by far the best uptempo track on the album.
There’s one track on there that sounds identical to Lil Wayne’s “A Milli.” Overall this album shows that her acting is far more important than her music.
Let’s clear the air about one thing:

Show me one Beyonce performance that would justify her playing in what would certainly be a summer tentpole blockbuster, and I’ll back off.
She got blown out of the water in “Dreamgirls” by a then-unknown Jennifer Hudson. Even the Beyonce stans gotta know that’s the truth.
Although I’m cool with black actresses playing in roles that would normally go to white actresses (Eartha Kitt is regarded by many as the best Catwoman), the character of Wonder Woman is a goddess of Greek origin, so the actress playing her should at least look Greek for authenticity’s sake.
