R&B Crooner Mario recently opened up to Bossip about his rumored romantic relationship with Vanessa Simmons, his secret crush on Bey, and why he doesn’t need autotune “The Mighty Vocoder” to make a hit record.
Bossip: Would you ever use autotune?
Mario: Not to that extent cause I don’t feel like I need to. I feel like I can do that without using autotune. Do I have a challenge anywhere out there? I’ll do it without it. I think it’s entertainment, man. It’s fun. I feel like if that’s what you’re selling, if that’s what you’re trying to give to your fans then great…but that’s why you need artists like me who don’t use it. I come with a whole other feeling. Our music is still going play on the same station.

Mario: Michael Jackson. I know its cliché and most artists always say that Michael Jackson has influenced them somehow, but it’s different for me. I feel like I get his music on another level.
What’s your favorite curse word and use it in a sentence.
Mario: Goddammit, shit. No, wait…shit! That’s my favorite curse word. As in “Shit, man we gotta do that note again I fucked up.”

What’s your most recent embarrassing moment?
Mario: I was in Italy and I walking to this store in Florence and I had just come from touring in the Cathedrals and stuff. There was this girl and I was trying to talk to her but I couldn’t speak Italian. So I’m talking to her and the whole time she’s acting as if she’s listening and she can understand everything that I’m saying. I was just talking to her about whatever. At the end of the conversation she was like I don’t understand English. I basically sat there and talked to her for like five minutes.
Bossip: Did you at least get a number…long distance of course.
Mario: I was so embarrassed I was just like, “Thank you very much.”

YES MARIO YES!! I dont kno about the rest of of the interview but when he said “I Have Nothing” Whitney Houston!!! He hit that! That made me know that he has some musical history because dude was like 7 when that came out. So he had to look back and no matter how much people wanna act like people aint sh*t because they arent out on the red carpet, Whitney Houston used to be “THAT” chick! All these young girls combined + talent couldnt equal the package Whitney had (with the exception of J-Hud voacally). I like Mario for that because he couldve easily used some new Jessica Alba chick.

i think Mario hasnt EXPLODED like the chris browns and omarions because maybe he isnt as “mainstream” cute .. but his swagga .. i really be feeling the kid and like Pres said Mario is very much so underrated, his last album GO is my absolute favorite. I will forever have a new respect for Keith Sweat’s Right and a Wrong Way and Music For Love is like my absolute favorite .. it was definitely a 5 star and people slept on it. The boy has talent, he need a better manager to help consumers and listeners realize that.
