Marion Jones has completed most of her term and has been released from a federal penitentiary:
‘Jones left a halfway house in San Antonio around 8 a.m.,’ said LaTanya Robinson, a community corrections manager for the federal Bureau of Prisons. Jones, who has a house in Austin, will remain on probation.
The sprinter admitted last October that she used a designer steroid known as “the clear” from September 2000 to July 2001. The drug was linked to the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative, the lab that became the center of a steroids scandal that touched numerous professional athletes, including baseball star Barry Bonds.
In 2004, she sued the founder of BALCO for defamation after he said she used steroids. The lawsuit was settled the following year, long before she told the truth in a federal courtroom.”
So what’s next for Marion, you ask? Perhaps a position as a coach for a JV track and field team out in Podunk, USA. Poor thang.

I want to let ya’ll know something about her. this is real talk, I ran against her all through high school and college. This female swore she was never on drugs! I was just furious because alot of times I came in second or third! It would have made a difference in the outcome of alot of female atheletes if they were placed in a higher spot that was claimed by her. I ran ameteur track and field until I was 26 and things didn’t work out but I always wondered what would have happened if things had panned out different back when I ran in high school and college. Good for her! She got what she had coming!!!

What people don’t know is one of the reasons she went to prison is because her and her first husband was involved with a fraud check sceme. They hussled over 100 thousand dollars with bad checks. Then she lied under oath in federal court which added fuel to the fire. She is a lovely looking person and I know people make mistakes, but unless you are involved in track and field to the level that we were, only then you can understand the anger.
I don’t see what the big deal is. In track and field on the level that she was participating,everyone was using a substance of some kind. Track and Field has been cutthroat for the last 20 years. The very minute that steroids became readily available,everybody on the circuit got down with it. Those who got the best stuff had the best results. Those who got the worst stuff,had the worst results. The thing people misunderstand is that NO steroid is going to make you better than everybody else. You still have to train your ass off to get the desired results. What steroids does is allow you to recover faster and work out on levels you ordinarily wouldn’t be able to. You can shoot steroids in your ass day and night ,but without training you’re not going to beat anyone at anything.

Now some points you are right! The part about everybody using steriods is not! All atheletes do not now it is clear that alot do but a very few do not and I can only speak on that because I was around alot of them. The part about all they do is make your recover faster and work out on levels you ordinarily wouldn’t be able is partical true. Steroids has a long term damage to you psychologically and physically. Now, people in the gym morning noon and night can acheive the maximum performance that she gives and any other athlete with PURE ENDURANCE DRUG FREE!

You would think they would lock up real criminals but oh well. I liked Marion Jones but figured she was on the juice because of how her abilities dropped off after the accusations. Its unfair to the atheletes that compete naturally. That said, I hope she rebounds and finds success.
