Rap pioneer Joseph Rev Run Simmons and wife Justine have a reason to celebrate. In the latest season of MTV’s reality show Run’s House, the couple will proudly present the newest addition to the family cast: their adopted 10-month-old daughter Miley. In an interview with Jet magazine, the Simmonses discussed the thrill of becoming adoptive parents nearly one year after their daughter Victoria tragically passed away just hours after being born.
The couple also encouraged others who may have trouble conceiving to consider adoption as an option. “There are other women out there who can’t have babies and they keep trying. They get so caught up with ‘I gotta have my own.’ If people knew that they would get that same feeling from adoption, I think more [couples] would adopt and not go through the heartache of trying and miscarrying.”

I think adoption is a beautiful thing. I plan on making that step when I get married, regardless of our ability to have children.
That is wonderful,I’m glad that lil girl is getting a better chance at a wonderful life, and KUDOS to her mother for gving her up knowing that she could not do for her, that takes a lot of courage.
Runs House is good TV. This is a great example of how the Black Family should be.

That’s real talk. The love they have for each other is so evident. Remember when Run’s daughter’s were about to move to Los Angeles and their oldest brother was crying?

I keep trying to educate my ppl on that. Everytime I say I want to adopt I get black folks talking crazy “why you want somebody else baby”, ” it’s not like your own”, “I don’t want nobody’s baby but mine.” We can be so close minded and ignorant sometimes.

Run treat his kids like his own seed because they are his seeds…with the exception of Miley, of course.
Anyway, I’m happy that they are happy and have the baby that they wanted so bad.
I also agree about the show being staged at times, especially this season. But still, at least their not a trashy family and have values and we don’t see any kids swinging from polls and posing naked.
It’s amazing to me that Run’s House and Deon’s show don’t get as much media coverage as other reality show families. I guess if they were more controversial it would be a different story.

I love Run’s house and that lil baby is a cutie. I love Justine, but I wish they had not touched up her face so much. It looks weird to me and she was already pretty to begin with.

I think the bigger KUDOS is that Run’s House is a Black family show on MTV, a network not known for always portraying us in a good light. It shows that we don’t have to dumb ourselves down to be hip. Go Rev Run!

This is a beautiful loving family representing for us black folks, just goes to show not all of us live or treat our kids crazy. much praise to them for adopting, that is a HUGE act of love and they will surely be rewarded for doing so. God bless them all that open their hearts and homes to needy kids, angelina jolie, madonna, nicole kidman, and the many many more famous and non famous.

I want to know is the Simmons can adopt me, my baby daddy plus our three kids. We can live in the west wing my boys will have the maids take out the trash. Here is my thing the black community would adopt more kids IF we weren’t out here starving already. Gas is $4.67 out here. Another mouth to feed would break me. But I still love da kids.
That is so nice of them to adopt a child. It really warms my heart for them to think of a motherless child and give him/her a home. Not too many nice things happen out here - so I want to thank them for doing something people can be proud of and hopefully some others may take their lead. Thanks to both of you and may GOD continue to BLESS your Family.
I’m happy for them, she is such a great mother and she is able to give that love to someone whose mother was not able to. She uses her God given ways to make someone life feel very fortunate. God Bless to them!!!!

I love the show, I am going to wish them well, I am so happy for Justin, she loved Runs first three children like they were her own. I think it takes a strong secure woman to do that. And they seem to love her. So I know this little Miley is going to be well taken care of. I love the show.

Please, not all of us go dough to run out and adopt a BABY. Most folks have to get put on a list, wait, call, wait, visit, wait, background checks, pay, wait, pay more, wait more….then you get a 12 yr old. Which is lovely, if you were hoping to adopt a 12 yr old. But they wanted a baby so please don’t call anyone else who wants a baby opposed to a 12 yr old wrong. So to the lovely couple…..I’m happy you got exactly what you wanted, when you wanted it, but most of the folks that read Jet can’t afford the luxury.

The have a beautiful family… I love the show and their aim for success and family. Rev. Run is definitly a model father and mentor he is a true trend setter and he teaches that to his children.

Anyone can go to Social Services and adopt a child the cost are minimal and you can also get a tax deduction.

I gave my Opinion. I DO NOT think that the baby is cute and I never once mentioned her complexion. I also do not think that the other babies I listed are cute. They range from dark to light. Everyone has and is entitled to their own opinion. While I think Babies are a blessing from God, I don’t think they are all automatically Cute. But I do think they are all automatically precious. Everyone has a child in their family that they looked at and said “Damn, she look like such and such, Bless her Heart”
And for the person who said that the family did not pick the baby based on features let me clue you in on how adoption works for the RICH: They get to pick EXACTLY what type of child they want and they do make a decision on looks and age. They decided they wanted a brown skin baby with similar features and guess what, they PAID for just that.

I love this show and the family. They have lessons and good examples that are believable. They have $$ things around the house and fancy cars but they don’t seem to be consumed with it. It’s about the FAMILY not show biz. I love them!
