DJ K-Swift, born Khia Edgerton, passed away this morning:
Popular female DJ K-Swift died in a swimming pool accident in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.
K-Swift was just 28-years-old, at the time of her death, although she started DJ’ing at the age of 11, due to the influence of other pioneering DJ’s like Cocoa Channel and Jazzy Joyce.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family. RIP.

She was at a pool party and dived in and hit her head, and died. This is such a tragedy, she was a really great DJ,the kids loved her, the clubs that she did parties for with the teenagers and the older crowd, and she did alot for people who were trying to get on as new artist, I knew her personally, and my prayers go out to her family, she will truly be missed R.I.P!

This is SUCH SAD NEWS!!! I enjoyed listening to K-Swift on the radio with the other DJ’s on 92Q JAMS in Baltimore on my radio in York, PA. My condolences go out to her family and also to the 92Q family as well.

I didn’t know her and never heard of her but my heartfelt condolences go out to her to her and her family. All of the 92Q Jamz DJ’s are out today due to this trajedy. That is probably why you all haven’t heard anything from them. R.I.P K Swift. Gone too soon for us but God needed you.
There’s nothing fishy or suspicious about this. She died being herself and having fun. That’s just how she lived her life. One of the baddest female DJ’s around. Baltimore truly lost an inspiration for our youth whome she loved dearly. My condolences to her mother, sister and the 92Q family. She will truly be missed.

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― A popular Baltimore DJ is dead.
Adam May reports the body of 29-year-old Khia Edgerton, also known as “K-Swift” was found Monday morning at her northeast Baltimore home in the 4300-block of Arizona Avenue.
Police initially responded to Good Samaritan Hospital for crowd control. They interviewed people there.
They say K-Swift was giving a pool party at her home earlier in the day. She had been drinking extensively before getting into the pool.
Witnesses told police there were several people in the pool when Edgerton jumped in, but none of the swimmers were alarmed when she didn’t immediately resurface.
There were also lifeguards present.
After time had passed and she still didn’t surface, they got alarmed and jumped in.
They were able to pull her out to the side of the pool. Medics were called but no one at the party attempted CPR while they were waiting.
When medics got there, they attempted CPR to no avail. She was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
When police arrived at the house to investigate the pool was very cloudy and the area was dimly lit.
She broke ground as a female DJ on 92 Q Jams and rose to female mix show coordinator.
She is one of the only women in the country to hold the title.
Her death is being investigated by Baltimore City police as a suspicious death.
Our city is so hurt! RIP Khia…or as the world knows you, Club Queen K-Swift! My heart is aching & our city will ALWAYS love you & remember the great times you brought us. You’re one of the reasons we’re on the map!

R.I.P. so sad, I just lost my Aunt Terri (fighting back the tears). I was going to see her this weekend, but God had other plans. I guess He wants me to remember her as being vibrant, animated, loud, and full of life. Sad thing is she was part of her own demise(sp), her doctor said she basically drank herself to death, and her liver stopped functioning. My bestfriend’s uncle just dies too, he was also an alcoholic. He was drunk fell down and broke his neck that left him paralyzed, he died of complications of that. Both in there 60’s, with plenty of life left. But the good news is that Mama Honey (great granny) will be celebrating her 100th b-day on the first, CALI here I come, VEGAS here I come.

Khia “K-Swift” Edgerton, one of Baltimore, Maryland’s most popular DJ, died early today (July 21) after a pool accident in her home.
The 29-year-old, whose cause of death is to be determined pending an autopsy, had been hosting a party at her house Sunday evening into early this morning, according to the Baltimore Sun. Police believe that she may have been drinking.
Reports say that during the party, the DJ jumped into her above-ground pool (which was four or five feet deep) with several other people, but didn’t resurface. After some time, her friends pulled her out of the pool onto a metal-frame deck adjoining the pool, and called 911.
When paramedics arrived, Edgerton was breathing “very shallow and her pulse was weak,” according to Baltimore police spokesman Donny Moses. She was pronounced dead soon after her arrival to Good Samaritan Hospital.
