Michelle Obama should be much for of an inspiration for our youth than Tyra Banks and the fact that they would prefer to listen to illogical, irrational, ignorant Tyra than a poised and intelligent Michelle Obama speaks volumes. Simply put, our youth don’t want to work hard. They’d rather deal with their inadequacies in a Tyra Banks fashion–so what if I am x,y,z–as opposed to Michelle Obama who lifted herself out of poverty and went to Princeton and Harvard Law. Sure, it is not strut on the catwalk, but when you compare Michelle Obama to Tyra, I’d take Michelle any day.
Am I the only one that sees that all of this media stuff is a bunch of BULLSHIT? The powers that be are hoping that we blacks continue to idolize people who really have not done anything. Is America’s Next Top Model and her talk show a true success story? It’s more than money people, it’s about making a positive impact on our society and our youth.
We need more examples of african americans with original thought and ideas, college graduates, phds, doctors, layers, city planners, economists–not vapid, ignorant, self-centered ones who continue to exploit and capitalize off of our ignorances.
