The American Idol curse has struck again!

We’re hearing that 2004 champ Fantasia Barrino has just been dopped by her management team.

Fantasia still has her contract with her record label, though probably not for much longer.

The singer was repped by 19 Entertainment, the company owned by AI’s Simon Fuller.

Do people still care about Fantasia?

She obviously didn’t care about her fans. Bitch missed so many performances while on Broadway’s The Color Purple.

We’re surprised Tasia hadn’t beem dumped by her label or management sooner!

Fantasia was also set to perform tonight at Milwaukee’s Summerfest concert, but instead has been replaced by Musiq Soulchild.

    Thank goodness!

Big Ups to Nas for using his power & influence on the mic to enlighten the youth and give you thought provoking lyrical content & topics…

While the strippers need songs to dance to (*Peaches I just came from the bank and got a fresh stack of ones - I ain’t forgot you boo, I’ll see you later on tonight), we need other types of songs that don’t have nothing to do with = a$$ shakin’, gun bustin’, 1001 ways on how to kill a ni@@a, expensive cars, expensive clothes, etc…

We need all types of music out & well promoted at the same time, like in the 90’s = the “golden era”…

    REAL TALK Mr. Jones!!!

I dare the Nas haters to say something negative about that!

I reall hope that people realize and understand the lyrics in this song. It isn’t just another rap song with some lyrics. What he is saying is the bonafide truth. It is real. What he is saying is that the Devil (whomever or whatever) is a liar as it says in the bible. Everything that you see on TV is a lie even the news. That is how the world is run and if you get caught up in the lie, you too will perish.

I am so happy to see that there are still a few M.C.’s that have substance. Now is NOT the time to
concentrate on flossing, chasing hoes, killing and dope dealing. Urban America has been F*#$ed over by Media and the government for so long. It’s time to uplift and inform. It has been an attack on us for years, thats why Reagan allowed drugs to be dropped off in our communities and let young Blacks and Latinos take the bait and the blame (Ricky Ross). Do your research; study up on the ‘Contras’ and how Reagan manipulated our communities to fund their war (Oliver North) by making money from the dope he placed in our neighborhoods after Congress told him they weren’t going to aid him . No one in Washington EVER paid for those mis deeds. Bush Sr. pardoned them ALL before he left office. PEOPLE WAKE UP; WHILE WE ARE FOCUSED ON THE MATERIAL AND THE CARNAL , WE ARE BEING EXTERMINATED. Teach yourselves and your little ones. Remember the true struggle. Racism and Capitalism go hand in hand. Believe it! Thanks Nas, keep the TRUTH coming. You are the difference between true Activism and the fly by night M.C. . Shout out to Chuck D.

@MsLoveNas……I will cosign on that….. Not so much because I love NAS. But rather because of the comparisons made by some moronic, tasteless, idiots. If you are lucky enough to ever find yourself with a microphone in your hand, for the whole world to hear. Say something worth saying, or shut the f@#k up.
Hip Hop doesn’t need another song, about how to perform a new dance step. What Hip Hop needs is, more people that are willing, and knowledgeable enough to speak on the current state of American affairs. Whether their views are right, or wrong, or somewhere in between. In other words, say something damn it!!!! I don’t want to hear about what kind of car you drive. I don’t want to hear about how much jewelry you own. I don’t want to hear about the amount of bottles you pop at the club. I don’t want to hear about how much groupie love you can get. Fore these are the bragging rights of children, with child like mentalities. These elementary minds, can only appeal, to those with similar midget like mentalities. What Hip Hop really needs, is thinkers. A rebirth sort of speak. Better yet, a return to its organic beginnings. Yes, it is true that the newer generations, need their own identities within Hip Hop. But not at the cost, or the death of the music itself. No one should be allowed, to put the music at risk. Old, or young.
People that are willing to think out side of the box, is what the music desperately thirst for.
And for that matter, so doe’s the entirety of America. Even beyond the bonds of Hip Hop. ARTOFWAR.

Nas did make some mistakes. In the song he says that Myspace & Youtube are owned by Fox. Newscorp owns Fox and Myspace. News Corporation is the main company that owns Fox, HarperCollins Publishing, 20th Century Fox, Myspace, New York Post and others. Youtube is owned by Google. Google is not owned by NewsCorp.

He also talks about Fox setting up child predators. MsNBC does the “To Catch A Predator” show not Fox.

    (Check me out!)

pheonix I just think nas wanted diss myspace and youtube, it’s prolly some artist or people he don’t personaly like on there, a lot of the stars want that to end, because since all of the youtube and myspace stars are running around, the attention has went off the big celbs, and they blame that on why nobody is buying their music.

Nas is a good artist, no doubt, but not a revolutionary, he hasnt made 1 change in the game since he been it. He blends in, stay quiet, and dose an excellent job on wax, however he has never changed the game. IMO.. He do have his own style when it comes down to music, but he lacks the talent to influence ppl enough to make a movement.

but props for this track. He’s good at what he dose.

    Wow!

I love it…Nas is one of the most prolific arist of our generation. Even though this song will never get the 24/7 airplay that it deserves, those of us that can and will listen to need to heed the warning, hear the message and begin to formulate our plan as a community that we will no longer be decieved by what the government and media feeds us.

  60. (Check me out!)

I expected nothing less than this from Nas. He is that man, for real. People talking shit about this dude when he is clearly on top of the “Real Hip Hop Game”. Ya can’t do nothing but respect this nicca. All new comers take note and learn what it really was that made Hip Hop so powerful.

@Phoenix…..Thank you for pointing out a few minor discrepancies. But don’t make the common mistake, that most Americans make. And by this I mean, getting caught up in the details. The general message is of higher importance.
This seems to be a phenomenon, amongst people these days. Too many people can not see the entire forest, because they are too busy looking at the tree, that is directly in front of them… ARTOFWAR.

That’s why I love the blogs. For all the negativity and BS we talk about, there are a couple of bros and sis that are very much aware. wow, wish I could catch you guys now. There is some seriously deep shit going on that is bigger and crazier than we could ever imagine. Nas mentions/says “matrix” throughout the song, which is funny bcuz I think that movie somehow represents us today….we are soooo lost.

Sorry for getting deep but eversince I heard what this one brother had to say about this world today and state of black people, my eyes and ears are open. We are being watched.

Get off that high life bullshit. The life on video, you will never live. Believe me, I live that life everyday. It’s not all what is crack up to be. Ask JZ he will tell you the same. Get real. The glamorous life is just a sales tool, to get fools such as yourself to buy into it. And make some of us richer, while making yourself poorer. Unplug from the matrix. All the comments on here represent how intelligent and informed our people and other nationalities are. To all those posting , thanking for the knowledgeable observations. Although I read a bunch of news from political sites, I can’t tell you how much I have learned through the bloggers on this site. Take note Bossip, I still love the off kilter news, but this is what’s up. And Nas thank you. My daughter is 12 years old, she loves the song : “I know I can”, be what I want a be, If I work hard at it, I’ll be where I want a be”. It’s right on her ipod. Love the video and the song, and her rapping the lyrics. She wrote to the White House protesting the Iraq War, she’s that serious. They sent a letter back, one of those President Bush feels blah, blah, blah, but the child knows words have power and she won‘t be deterred. I told her to continue, don’t hold your tongue for anyone. Keep teaching the youth Nas, my daughter’s listening. This is what today’s youth should be listening to, not “Superman that Ho”, listen and learn Soulja. Your intelligent enough to market yourself, listen, and make a difference.

I can’t wait to finally hear some real shit for a change, fuck the powers that be (Viacom, Clear Station and radio play). Cube and Nas, please go get these two albums and wake the fuck up and listen. They’re two rich brothers, that really don’t have to give a fuck about our poor asses and let us stay sleep and believe all the bullshit on TV and Radio, but they care enough to keep it real and try to open our minds to what is really going down OUR RIGHTS, need I say more!!!!.
