Here goes that old bag Barbara Walters flapping her lips again about another high-profile African American:
“Barbara Walters has revealed that Star Jones had her ‘View’ co-hosts hide the fact she’d had gastric bypass surgery. ‘She decided to have a gastric bypass operation, but then she decided not to tell anybody,’ Walters told Oprah Winfrey Tuesday. ‘Then we had to lie on the set everyday because she said it was portion control and Pilates,’ Walters said. ‘Well, we knew it wasn’t portion control and Pilates.’”
Everyone knew it took surgical measures to deflate that blimp-like body. It’s strange that Barbara felt the need to put Star on blast like that. Especially for someone who looks like she’s experienced a little knife action herself now and again.

I like Barbara! Star Jones asked everyone at the View to LIE at the beginning because she didn’t want to be the “poster child” for gastric bypass. The point Barbara was making was that it made everyone uncomfortable, including the audience, because it was obvious that she had had the surgery. Coupled with the fact that she was promoting her wedding in such an aggressive way, the audience didn’t know who she was anymore and couldn’t identify with her.

They were asked to keep it a secret because Star was selling her book around the same time which was about weight-loss through prayer and pilates. She came to my former church in Brooklyn to promote the book and I’m sure the pastor knew she was lying…Rosie O’Donell was the first to call her on it. She wanted to make a profit from her deception plain and simple.

I am glad Star lost the weight. Watching her huff and puff while she read the teleprompter on The View was frightening. For the longest time, I used to think, “Just imagine the ratings the show would get if Star had a massive coronary while on the air.” I don’t care how y’all spin it, being fat & greasy ain’t healthy! When I heard about Barbaras’ affair, I immediately thought about her interview with Monica Lewinsky-Bill Clintons’ jumpoff.

There is a difference in lying, and choosing not to disclose. Star’s medical history is her business, and cannot be discussed without her consent. When she was ready to share about her gastric surgery, she did so. Why in heaven would BW disclose an affair that happened so long ago? That is one secret I would have taken to the grave. There was nothing to gained from her disclosure except pain and embarrassment for the Senator’s wife. And book sales for BW.

By the way, Star’s ashy, sallow looking skin is a result of her body not receiving the proper nutrients it needs. With a stomach the size of an egg, she just could not eat enough to sustain a healthy appearance. The newer pictures of her shows her progress. She has gained a bit of weight, and her skin/hair/nails look much healthier. Because of the extreme amount of weight she lost, she would need a total body lift to correct the sagging breasts, “bat wing” skin on her arms, etc. I’m afraid that no amount of surgery will correct that bobble head.
