This wasn’t your best interview, but it was alright/decent nonetheless… For those of you who can’t hear it - Russell Simmons is VERY long-winded however he gives very insightful and honest answers…
Good Job on getting someone who can conduct a decent interview, unlike that wack a$$ broad who previously did them in the past who would interrupt the guest and you could hear her typing in the background…

I was watching a documentary on the congo and the raping if the women and young girls there. Something interesting caught my attention, I counted 5 rebel soldiers fighting over the natural resources (diamonds) in the congo wearing phat farm. Yes wearing phat farm in the remote jungles of the congo. Coincidence? I think not. I hope I am not to far down the post for people to read this.

I watched that documentary as well I think. Are you talking about the one on HBO? It was very hard to watch and disturbing. The stories were absolutely horrible and heart breaking.

For the benefit of those of us who like to see for themselves instead of believing some random comment on the internet can you actually cite the name of this documentary you saw.
I was just sitting here trying to remember that…and I cant remeber it. But what I can tell you it was shown on HBO and it was a young white woman who traveled the region herself and talked with rape victims and even some of the rebels responsible. It was horrible. Give me a second I will do a little internet research and try to find the name.
And with one google search I found it. It’s called The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo. Watch it.

I saw that documentary, it was disturbing to watch but very informative. Its sad that there is only one police woman, and a few others to handle all of the rape cases that take place.

Thank you, AlwaysaLady! I will definitely tune in to watch that. I saw the one they did on VH1 a couple years ago when they had Raekwon, Paul Wall, and some reggaeton dude go over there to learn about blood diamonds. Every last one of them had their diamonds on and who knows that it even made a difference to them. Most people could care less.
