Exclusive: N.O. Cops Give Tank the Taser

An inside source has told Bossip about a shocking event that took place last night outside of a New Orleans nightclub. The source, a woman, and Tank were leaving the club and walking to meet their driver when they encountered a police roadblock. Apparently, there’d been a shooting. According to the source, the police were very rude in telling the two that they couldn’t walk through the area. Like a gentleman, Tank spoke up for himself and his lady friend, telling the cops they didn’t have to speak to them in the way they did.
The two were walking away from the scene when out of nowwhere 3 cops tackled Tank and began using tasers on him. He was arrested on a number of counts, including disorderly conduct, and just released on bail moments ago.
This is really messed up. One time in cities across the country are still abusing their power. Something’s gotta give.

A taser (like pepper spray) is just a substitute for a gun. If somebody is going to use a taser, they would have used a gun in the exact situation.
Tank should sue, they’re in the wrong.
And police departments need to be more careful and more studious about their taser policies. Just because you have an instrument doesn’t mean the best option (or the only option) is to use it.

This really needs to be pursued legally I’m not sure if Tank has any criminal justice recourse judging from the fact that he seemingly did obstruct official business by ignoring the command of an officer, but they should definitely press internal affairs into looking into excessive force violations. Very often officers involved with situations like these have prior incidents.

I live in New Orleans and I can say without a doubt that the police are a bunch of a-holes. Louisiana is a very corrupt state, but those officers were probably on a power trip, and they do not speak for all people of New Orleans. There are a lot of good people here.
Oh, and I am sure there is more to this story. I saw Tank at the Reggie Bush And Shaq party in New Orleans. He was being real rude and cocky and refused to take pictures with fans until he felt like it, and he actually said that. A lot of people were walking away from him saying that he was on some Hollywood ish walking around with some white woman on his arm. He makes one hit song every two years, you would think he would be willing to take pics with the few fans he has.
At that same party, I saw Reggie getting a number from two scantilly clad white women while giving me and my girls some serious eye contact. I didn’t even realize it was him at first. He looks smaller in person. And yes Kim and her sisters were also at the event, but they were in the v.i.p. section the whole time. Ok, I was at that crime scene and the police were not being rude - they were being forceful, which is what a situation like that demands. The suspect was still firing shots and they were trying to clear the area. There was a road block, but there was also a line of cars, and a number of intoxicated clubgoers to protect and move. Here’s an idea. A dude has a badge, a taser, and a gun, and he tells me I can’t walk down a street… my reply is “Sure thing officer…have a good night”. That’s it. If he was overly rude about it, I make a mental note of his rank and name, and i file a formal complaint with the Department. If a police officer puts his hands on me, I won’t fight back on the street because 1. I am out-gunned and 2. His boys are most likely there to help him. That’s asking for a whole can of fresh whoop-a$$ to be opened on my head. Instead, I’ll fight him in the courts where the playing field is a little more level.
